Matthew Hinsley has been a community leader in the arts in Austin, Texas for more than twenty-five years. He won an Austin Under Forty Award, and was named Public Citizen of the Year by the Texas National Association of Social Workers. The subject of many media features, Matthew was recently profiled in the Austin American Statesman in a major cover feature.

As Executive Director of Austin Classical Guitar, Matthew has raised millions of dollars for arts and education programming. He is a lead author of GuitarCurriculum.com, a paradigm-shifting educational resource used in hundreds of schools across the world, as well as LetsPlayGuitar.org, a first-of-its-kind braille lifelong learning resource for the blind and visually impaired community. ACG has created a range of community-based social service programming, including ground-breaking daily for-credit classes for incarcerated youth in the Texas Juvenile Justice System.

Matthew has taught arts management for the University of Texas since 2015, and maintains a busy public speaking schedule. He is a sought-after mentor and consultant for community-based efforts, and has helped many young leaders to develop themselves and their organizations across the United States. Author of seven books, Matthew has a deep belief in the power of kindness, and the critical importance of invisible and hard-to-measure things.
